Vancouver WordCamp

Last night, at our monthly South Okanagan WordPress Meetup meeting, the topic of the Vancouver WordCamp came up – along with the question of “Why attend?”

I attended my first WordCamp in 2015, in Vancouver. It cost me $20, and included lunch, a t-shirt and a full day of workshops (both a beginner and an advanced track).

It lit a fire in me I still stumble to explain.

It’s about Open Source. It’s about Giving Back. It’s about Learning. It lead me to dive deeper into both Open Source and WordPress, eventually leading me to my current work, as an Automattic Happiness Engineer. (We’re hiring!)

If you are interested in WordPress on any level, I urge you to attend. Hopefully I will see you there!
